Reflections for day 4

On day 4, we first had a sharing session on our participation in the online forum.
I posted on http://www.hivforum.com/, asking abt the effects of HIV and AIDS on youths and what the government can do to change the effects, but no one replied my thread! Some of my classmates had replies, but it wasnt relevant to their question and topic.

Then Zach told me that many people replied to his thread in just a few seconds.
So i decided to also post on his forum, which is http://www.golivewire.net/forums/
I received 4 replies, and they are relevant to the questions that i asked!

Next, we were told that we were going to do A REPORT.

My first reaction was WHAT? REPORT? I HATE REPORTS!
But i find that writing the report was quite fun!

We had a sample report, and i used it as a guide to start writing the report.
Firstly, i was quite hesitant about starting, as i was unsure.
But after asking my friends who have already started, i got a clearer idea on how to draw up the report.

The report took quite some time to do,
as we not only have to type words,
we also need to take screenshots of
Google and MetaCrawler.

After doing the report, we had an online discussion on the OLE-BB website.
We had to share about how internet has enriched my academic life,
and illustrate using an internet resource we learnt in EIR.

I think that the online discussion was useful,
as not only do we get to share our experience using internet with each other,
but we also learnt of new ways on how to enrich our academic life with internet.

Many of my classmates said that before EIR,
they usually use only Google or Yahoo! to research.
But now, we have learnt how to use MetaCrawler and Google Scholar
which some of them find think are better than the usually search engines.

I enjoyed the online discussion very much!
Not only do we get to post threads,
we can also comment on other threads posted by our classmates,
and we can share our views with everyone.
